Surgery update

I’m doing pretty well. The scar is healing. However during the surgery they burned something else off and it is hurting like monkeys. Even though the cyst was larger last time I didn’t take any pain killers. This time… I’ve had to take quite a few. I get muscle spasms in the area and they cause momentarily blinding pain. It has caused some amusement with my family lol. I laugh about it later… but in the moment it really sucks. I’ve pretty much been stuck in the house since Friday night. I’ve gone outside maybe twice and I can’t really sweat in the area … or it causes pain and it increases the potential of the cyst coming back.

I’m pretty disappointed with the Doctor. He didn’t come to explain anything to me after the surgery. My parents said he talked to them for maybe 30 seconds and that he said the instructions for how to manage this would be on the sheets they gave us. I read the sheets and they’re not very helpful. I essentially had two surgeries and the procedures conflict with one another. They forgot to give me instructions on how to deal with the second procedure I had done. I called them today and asked them what to do. They kind of rudely told me to read the directions. I told them that I had and what was going on. They told me to get the medicine the instructions detailed and I kindly informed them that the instructions had said nothing about that particular medicine. She also told me to do another procedure to help the swelling. I kindly informed her that the nurse had said I couldn’t do that procedure since I had the other surgery. She was like… oh yeah. Ummm… and asked me if I had made an appointment for two weeks later. The problem with this is that the medicine they forgot to mention could have prevented a lot of the pain I’ve been in.

If I have the surgery again I’m definitely using another doctor. The pain should hopefully go away in the next couple of weeks.

On another note… I bought a camera! My mom and dad gave it to me as a really early birthday present. A friend suggested the 880is and while I really liked the features it brought (wide angle lens, Digic IV processor…) I chose the 780is. I read a number of reviews and all the websites agreed that the 780 had better picture quality. I have 2 batteries from my old camera and they will work with the 780 and not the 880. The 780 doesn’t have a wide angle lens and the zoom is a little less powerful but it does have the Digic IV processor. A lot of people were disappointed with the 880. The features were good but I think 780 is a better fit for me. The 780 is also cheaper =).
