standing in awe

I've had a feeling that this fall would be special for some time now. I can't honestly put into words all that is going on internally and externally. I'm going to try to talk about some of it because I want to be able to look back and see how God moved.

Today I'll talk about Resonate.

Yo Han and I started a fellowship group with some of our old residents (we called it resonate, I will explain the name in a future post). I mentioned in a previous post that the point of it was to chase God together, to love each other, to love others and to teach others how to do the same. We've met three times now and it has been unbelievable. The first week we all stated that we felt the same thing was missing from our Christian experience at tech. Real fellowship. The kind of fellowship where anyone can come in and drop all barriers. A community where we can and are free to express what we struggle with and what we truly desire. A community where each man sharpens another and trusts the other members completely. That being said, we had no idea how to go about the details of creating something like that.

The approach was play ball and figure out the details as we go. That doesn't always work but God has been so merciful. We humbled ourselves and confessed our struggles. We dropped all masks and have come to a place where we know who everyone really is. Since then things have just caught on fire. Each man is chasing God individually and being reminded of all the reasons we love God in the first place. The most exciting time for me is when we come back together, whether it be in the fellowship group or just hanging out. That is the time when we tell each other about all the adventures God is taking us on. Somehow, God has translated loving and chasing him into loving each other. I wish I could show the smile that these guys put on my face.

God has done all this in just three weeks. We don't know where else God is taking this but we know it is real and are stoked about what it is doing in our daily lives.

In future posts I want to talk about some of the other things I'm stoked about... like living with the Brain Trust.
