Week 1: Chili -- Moderate success
Week 2: Lasagna – big success (cheated a lot)
Week 3: Garlic Soy Sauce chicken – best adjective I have for it is edible (really it tasted like i marinated it in the dead sea) … I could feel the salt hours later.
Week 4: someone suggest something before I kill my roommates

chicken carbonara. fairly easy to make, hard to go wrong.
note:
it takes practice to get the timing for the pasta and the sauce right. but your goal is, it takes quicker to make the pasta than the sauce, so get a third of the way into making the carbonara before boiling the water, start cooking the pasta halfway, and then at some point, make sure the pasta is done, and the sauce is done. and then voila!
(you can either cheat or make legit sauce)

fried rice is easy to make as well.
get old rice, add in carrots, chicken, whatever veggies you want.
